Power
Boats Ltd. was originally established in 1973 in response to the
needs of local boat owners who kept their boats on trailers and
required haul, launch and storage facilities. During the 70's and
80's we catered solely to the local power boat community and derived
our name from that era. By 1991 however, recognizing the need to
provide services for visiting yachts, Power Boats established the
first yachting boatyard in Trinidad.
Since
those early days, we have hugely expanded our on-site
boat services and the number of on-site
amenities for owners, captains and crews while they are here
with us. Although we haul over 500 boats every year and our yard
capacity is now over 250 boats, we still take pride in offering
as close to a "family" service as possible. Three of our
managers are owners of our company and happily, our business is
largely based on repeat customers. We are delighted to hear our
customers remark "how nice it is to be back home again"
when they return to us. Ultimately, our aim is to make it as comfortable,
easy and cost effective as possible for visitors to repair and store
their boats in Trinidad.
One
of our more innovative concepts is our "Convenience Card".
Introduced two years ago, all visitors are welcome to use one of
these cards during their stay with us. Similar to a credit card
in operation, our Convenience Card is used to conveniently pay for
goods obtained on our compound. When the convenience card is swiped
at any of our sales outlets the amount is placed directly on the
main account of the user and can be paid for at the end of the month
without any interest being charged until the following month. With
our Convenience Card, there is no need to carry cash and best of
all, using our Convenience Card automatically gives the user a discount
of 5% on almost everything purchased at our retail outlets.
